UniFi Network 9.3 at a glance – The most powerful update for the Ubiquiti ecosystem to date
25. July 2025 Ubiquiti

With UniFi Network 9.3, Ubiquiti launches an update that addresses many of the most requested features – taking the platform to a new level. From revamped client management and centralized DHCP management to advanced alerting and security features, this release is one of the most comprehensive in the history of UniFi software.

We have tested the update and show which new features stand out in particular – and for whom it is worth switching.

New client overview: More transparency at a glance with UniFi Network 9.3

Probably the most visible change is the completely redesigned client table. Instead of a simple list of devices, UniFi 9.3 now offers an interactive and filterable interface that is updated in real time. Users can now filter clients by access point, band, connection type (LAN/WLAN), radio standard (Wi-Fi 4/5/6/6E), manufacturer or VLAN.

This function makes troubleshooting much easier, especially in environments with many connected devices – e.g. schools, offices or larger households. Information is not only more quickly accessible, but also more clearly visualized.

DHCP Manager: Centralized IP overview at last

Until now, anyone who wanted to manage static IPs in different VLANs or subnets had to click through several menu levels. With the new DHCP Manager, UniFi Network 9.3 now offers centralized management of all leases across all networks.

Admins can not only view active leases, but also manage static assignments and search for devices or IP addresses. This makes work considerably easier, especially for installations with many VLANs or segmented networks.

Alarm Manager: Individual notifications with webhook support

With version UniFi Network 9.3, Ubiquiti introduces the Alarm Manager – a centralized event monitoring tool. Administrators can use it to define specific triggers, e.g. when a device goes offline, an unknown client connects or certain system messages occur.

In addition to classic notifications via email, UniFi now also supports webhooks – ideal for integrating alerts into external tools such as Slack, Microsoft Teams or automated ticket systems. The configuration can be customized based on roles so that only relevant people receive certain alerts.

CyberSecure & content filter: more security for everyone

Another highlight is the improved CyberSecure integration. At no additional cost, UniFi now offers DNS filtering with ad blocking, SafeSearch (for Google, YouTube, Bing) and content categories such as “Social Media”, “Streaming” or “Malware”.

These filters can be applied granularly per device or group – ideal for households with children or SMEs with compliance requirements. Proofpoint-supported intrusion detection & prevention (IDS/IPS) is also provided – also at no extra charge.

Improved logs and SIEM integration

There have also been some changes in the pro-logging area: the system logs have been visually revised and can now be filtered by time, severity, device or category. The new CEF export is particularly interesting for companies with an external analysis infrastructure – this allows log data to be transferred to systems such as Splunk, Graylog or ELK.

Further innovations at a glance

In addition to the main functions, there are numerous smaller but valuable improvements:

  • CNAME support in the integrated DNS system (previously only A-Records).
  • Multi-WAN with SLA: Policies for failover and load distribution depending on the application.
  • Polished UI: faster loading times, more stable sidebar, modernized icons.
  • Better search functions in all views.

Our conclusion: a must-have update for anyone who values control

UniFi Network 9.3 is a comprehensive update that simplifies everyday management tasks as well as providing advanced features for network professionals. Of particular note are the new client and DHCP management, advanced alerting capabilities, and the addition of advanced filtering and security features – all at no license or subscription cost.

A clear go for existing UniFi users and a convincing reason for newcomers to join the Ubiquiti ecosystem.
