A murder mystery dinner in the neon light of doom
The second night of my WGT Black Week is dramatic, decadent – and deadly. Today it’s not about technology, but about deadly sins in dancing shoes: the crime thriller dinner “black party – Dying at the Discotheque” from moses. Verlag takes us back to a night full of glitz, glamor – and a murder that strikes like lightning between a disco ball and a fog machine.
1986: Studio 54 meets dark foreboding
New York, 1986: the last big night of the legendary disco “Infinity”. The lights twitch, the bass vibrates, the audience is beautiful, rich – and full of dark secrets. When real estate mogul Johnny Champ collapses dead under a falling disco ball, the party is only just beginning – because the murderer is among the guests.
And you’re right in the middle of it.
What is black party – Dying at the Discotheque?

There is discussion, accusations, lies, laughter – and in the end there is a vote: Who did it? The gardener again?

Related, but independent: No classic Black Stories
Anyone thinking of the well-known Black Stories – also dark, also from moses. Verlag – is not wrong in terms of style, but not quite right in terms of content.
“Black Party – Dying at the Discotheque” is not part of the classic Black Stories series. Although it shares the aesthetic DNA and the penchant for the macabre, it is an independent murder mystery dinner game with a significantly different gameplay.
While Black Stories focuses on quick, abstract puzzles with yes/no questions, Black Party is all about immersive roles, conversations and targeted bluffing. Instead of a card game – a confrontation at the dining table. Instead of reconstructing the course of events – unmasking the perpetrators.
An ideal extension for fans of Black Stories, but with its very own format and standards.

Why the game fits in with WGT Black Week
The game thrives on dark aesthetics, deep emotions and subcultural drama – exactly what makes the WGT so fascinating every year. Anyone who not only wants to hear Gothic, but also feel it, will find a stage here for their very own dark role-playing game. Instead of a fog machine, there are false alibis. Instead of a dance floor – tactics.
Our conclusion: Death wears glitter
black party – Dying at the Discotheque is not a party to be enjoyed on the side – it is an evening full of roles, intrigue and black humor. Whether as the highlight of a WGT get-together or as a tribute to the aesthetics of past decades: This play is style, excitement – and proof that black outshines all colors.
Tomorrow we continue with post 3 of my WGT Black Week: a black accessory for your smart home. Stay dark!
